Something shifted for Yasser Soliman that day. He watched community after community pour years of energy into building audiences across fragmented tools and platforms they didn't control — only to watch one rule change, one policy update, one algorithm shift erase the work overnight. Content suppressed. Accounts closed. Reach throttled. Years of relationships gone.
A question from a community organizer landed hard: Why is there no platform of our own where we can build, gather, and grow without starting over every time a platform changes the rules? With nearly two decades building web and mobile platforms, Yasser felt a call to build the thing that should already exist.
Event hosts deserve one place they actually control. Not another tool they don't control pretending to serve them.
January – December 2024
Coding started in January 2024. By March 30, Thigmo was live — seeded with over 1,300 nonprofits, faith centers, and community organizations. Communities began forming. Then came the first pivot: event hosts needed a native mobile app to keep their audience close. iOS and Android shipped by June 30, 2024.
Adoption was harder than expected — the vision was too broad. Then, at a community convention in Ontario in December 2024, everything clicked. A conversation with an event host running large-scale food festivals showed exactly what was missing: one place where every event, every vendor, every attendee, every donation lived on a platform the host kept forever.
2025 → Now
Thigmo went on to power large-scale community events — including a regional cultural festival in May 2025 with hundreds of tickets sold online, nearly 50 vendor booths booked, and seamless on-the-day check-in. Every attendee, vendor, and sponsor became a member of an infrastructure the organizer owns.
More large-scale events followed — thousands of tickets sold, vendor directories that grow across events, donor relationships that persist between fundraising cycles. The mission is clear: be the one place for event hosts. Build it once. Own it forever.
