Al Qur’an Foundation, Inc began in 1992 as a religious, educational and charitable organization based in Milwaukee, WI. Dr Mohammad Shafi, MD was the founder and first President. Masjid Al Qur’an officially opened on September 5, 1997 at a community wide dedication ceremony led by Dr Ahmad Sakr. The initial facility included a Masjid, wudu facilities, office and lower level Community Center along with seven rental apartments. Later the building was expanded and added five additional apartments, a sister’s prayer hall, a larger masjid and expanded Community Center. Masjid Al-Qur'an is also now a chapter of the world-renowned Madina Institute, which means that we are blessed you can benefit from: - Islamic Studies foundational seminary program for adults (1-Year Program/Weekends) - Community enrichment programs in the core Islamic subjects from highly qualified 'ulema - Several special events such as our annual mawlid with guest scholars & qaris from around the globe
