Al-Malik is The King, the One who as part of His essential attribute is in no need of ANY thing, but everything is in need of Him. There is nothing that can disassociate itself from the need of God, whether it be in its existence, attributes, or continued sustenance and survival. God is independent of everything, Absolute. Man cannot be an absolute king β he is not independant of everything nor are most things in existence dependant upon him. According to Imam Al-Ghazali, man is a king among mankind. He is in need of noone, nor ruled by anyone, except God β great and glorious. Manβs kingdom is himself. He must rule over his blessings (physical traits, material blessings, etc.) and not be enslaved by them. By achieving this, he can obtain a higher state of sincere spirituality and have a positive impact on the environment around him.
